Mahendra ji Gharat is one of the most respected young leader in the fleet of veteran congress leaders from Raigad District.Presently working president of Maharashtra Pradesh INTUC i.e Indian National Trade Union Congress is sufficient portrayal of his image as a leader of Maharashtra. Presently leading more than 150 labour Unions to make the voice of a common man heard to the management has earned him wide reputation across the unrepresented sections of the society. Mahendraji Gharat is a fitness freak,who devotes one hour in the Gym and evening one hour playing badminton on a wooden court.An avid reader,charming intelligent yet innocent,he has succeeded in his life from the scratch. He is one leader to whom you can approach anytime and make yourself heard.You can praise him criticize him blame him right in his front and yet he will keep you seated with respect. He has his center of faith in his parents he misses the loss of his mother Late Yamunabai Gharat and gets sentimental and emotional at times when he reminisces her memories. His ideology is shaped by the views of Dr.B.R. Ambedkar,Shahu phule and Lion of the nation Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
