Maine Senate President Justin Alfond released the following statement in response to the governors statement about further payments will being suspended. The governor did not address the $500,000 already paid to the Alexander Group. Mainers have been swindled by Gary Alexander and for six months, Governor LePage and his Republican lawmakers have looked the other way, President Alfond said. Undoubtedly, this discredited report is an embarrassment for the LePage administration. And Governor LePages request to suspend payments is small change compared to the fleecing of our states coffers. I urge my Republican colleagues to join me in demanding a full refund from the Alexander Group. We should not be paying premium pricing for pulp fiction.
