Mainland China is attempting to force Hong Kong into only being - TopicsExpress

Mainland China is attempting to force Hong Kong into only being allowed to elect candidates screened by the Communist Party. What does this mean? It means that China is in direct conflict of the One country, two systems terms of the unification of it and Hong Kong. As such, massive protests have formed in Hong Kong. Now what does that mean for the rest of the world? It means that if China doesnt back off we could look forward to Great Britain stepping in to protect Hong Kong s autonomy (being a former Crown Colony and still maintaining strong relationships). If GB steps in and China doesnt back down I would be surprised if the U.S., Canada, Germany, France, and other major Western powers wont also step in. In conclusion there is 4 possible outcomes we could look forward to; 1. China backs down, everything goes back to normal. 2. China doesnt back down, Hong Kong declares independence and we get a second Cold War. 3. China doesnt back down, Hong Kong declares independence, China annexes them, and we get a Third World War as the West headed by GB retaliates. Or 4. As above but the West does nothing, leaving Hong Kong and by extension all the other Special Administration Zones to a similar fate. So, fun times.
