Maintenance Mechanic: Details: Nazdar is actively seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join our Maintenance Team. This individual will be responsible for assisting with building construction projects as well as assisting the Maintenance team in installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems for Nazdar. Responsibilities: Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment: dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts. Examines mechanical equipment for unusual sounds to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors to diagnose problems or repair machine. Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery as necessary. Informs Senior Maintenance Mechanic if replacement parts are needed. Assists with installation, troubleshooting and repair to electrical circuits, data and telephone lines. Troubleshoot and correct problems with A/C units, heating units, plumbing, electrical, etc. Serves as back-up to Senior Maintenance Mechanic and recommends any necessary service or repair to plant supervision in Senior Maintenance Mechanics absence. Takes direction from Senior Maintenance Mechanic in performing building maintenance and new construction projects, including: carpentry, plumbing, electricity, power and janitorial services. Performs job according to pre-established safety, quality, and efficiency standard operating procedures. Assists with other duties as directed by Senior Maintenance Mechanic or plant supervision. Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum two year technical school with emphasis in maintenance or related area preferred. Minimum three years’ work experience or a combination of work and apprenticeship equal to three years. Previous HVAC experience or education preferred. Ability to read and interpret electrical and plumbing drawings and machine schematics. Ability to operate basic hand tools and equipment such as drill press, band saw, table saw, welders, cutting torch, volt meter and current meter. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand for long periods of time; to constantly lift; to reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 65 pounds.
