Majority of the Muslims in India and Pakistan who call themselves - TopicsExpress

Majority of the Muslims in India and Pakistan who call themselves as Sunni-Hanafi do not follow Imam Abu Hanifa (rh) in Aqeedah but he is followed only in Fiqh. As per the writings of top heads of Barelvi and Deobandi seminaries, Hanafis in India follow Abu Mansoor al-Maturudi and Abul Hasan al-Ashari in Aqeedah, while Abu Hanifa (rh) is ignored in Aqeedah because his Aqeedah was of Ahlul-Hadith. According to Imam Abu Hanifa (R.H.), anyone who says that he doesnt know whether Allah is above the Heavens or on the earth has become an Apostate! Similarly if someone denies that the Arsh is over the Heavens has also become an apostate, according to Imam Abu Haneefa (R.H.). While Asharis and Maturudis believe Allah is everywhere. So the right term for them is NOT Hanafi but either Maturudi or Ashari.
