Make no mistake. This tour will take you far from the beaten path, but do not worry. Eco-Freaks Outfitters will be there every step of the way to assure an enjoyable experience. And did someone say “unique, memorable adventure?” You’ll meet your fellow adventurers and get acquainted with your cycling equipment at a hospitality event the first evening. In the morning we,ll ride to Audubon’s Corkscrew Sanctuary, Florida’s last remaining primeval cypress forest. Stroll the trails and boardwalks and marvel at the native plant life, exotic birds, and other creatures that inhabit this wilderness. Our next stop is the Seminole Casino Resort Hotel in Immokalee, where we’ll stay for the evening. In the morning we peddle to the Seminole Indian Reservation to tour the museums. We’ll spend the night in the heart of the Everglades at Swamp Billie’s Hotel and Resort, where you’ll find safari excursions into the interior, local dining, and incredible tranquility. Most of the next day’s ride will be cycling off road to the Big Cypress Preserve where we can explore over 20 miles of pristine cycling trails in the heart of the wilderness. We will also ride the woodland trails of Bear Island Preserve and the Florida Panther Preserve where you can observe, first hand, efforts to protect and nurture the rare Florida panther. We’ll continue to the coastal fishing village of Everglades City, where we’ll stay for the night. The next day you can relax, enjoy the local attractions and seafood, or take a fishing, boating, or kayak excursion. The following morning, we’ll board a boat for a scenic cruise to Marco Island, where our transport will take us to Naples. We will stop along the way at the Rookery Bay Estuary for a naturalist-guided tour and leisurely lunch.
