Make the ultimate objective of everything you do a quest for the Pleasure of Allah سبحانه و تعالى, and a means of facilitating meeting Allah سبحانه و تعالى in a good state. The Prophet ﷺ, mentioned: “Those who long for the meeting with Allah, Allah سبحانه و تعالى is pleased to meet them.” We should be people who long to meet Allah سبحانه و تعالى. How could it be otherwise when we realize how much Allah سبحانه و تعالى has done for us, and when we reflect on the vastness of His ﷻ blessings, and the preponderance of His ﷻ grace? Even a person who has suffered greatly in this world has been blessed. He has been blessed with this life that opens up for him the possibility of eternal bliss in Paradise. Exposure to that bliss for even a moment will make him forget all of the ill he suffered in the world. — Imam Zaid Shakir
