So proud of my son, he had to write an essay for his college entry exam: Tell me about someone you consider influential in your life. Here is a quick synopses. This man left his family, friends the only place he ever has known to pursue his true American Dream-to play baseball with men he only dreamt about, only read about. His passion for the game and his love for his family brought him to the USA, where later in life he was able to bring his family so they didnt have to live under the Communist regime that was now taking over their beautiful island of Cuba. My abuelo was not only an excellent ball player but he excelled in Golf, and he was an avid hunter. I admire my abuelo for who he was, for what he has taught me and for loving us the way he loved us. My abuelo past away on Nov. 15, 2013, I felt him go, he also taught me its okay to cry for those you love and I did. He was my greatest inspiration Ive known so far, but I know he is not far because now I have him as my gaurdian angel. Love you lots abuelo-tu Nieto
