Make this a great 2015! Set some achievable goals. As you meet those goals, plan something bigger! Take this time for yourself. Dont rely on someone else because someone else cant do it for you. Get your workout completed before anything else can get in your way. People have the best intentions of getting to the gym after work only to find themselves staying late at work or getting that call from home asking you to pick up something on your way home. We have a 6:00 a.m. morning Spin class where I encourage you to move at your own pace. Interval training is very rewarding as I run you through a mixed terrain type of ride. Youll feel great throughout the rest of your day physically and mentally knowing you already got your workout done. Class is offered Monday, Wednesday and Fridays at 6:00 a.m. and Saturday at 9:00 a.m. Plan on extending to Tuesday and Thursday with a good workout in the gym. There are plenty of great plans that you can find online. You can take your plan with you to the gym, do the workout and then get going. No wandering thinking about whats next so youre in and out in 45 minutes to 1 hour. Want to complete your first 5k this year? 10k? Lets train for it. We have treadmills up stairs to get in some miles on these cold days. Getting in miles is great but strength training is proven to also reduce your chance of injury. Want to lose weight? Taking less time between your sets while working out will keep your heart rate up and burn more calories. Remember to take your recovery days too. That doesnt mean sitting around on the couch or lying in bed. Go for nice walk with your dog or a friend. Take a Yoga class on Saturday to help strengthen core and flexibility. Make some small changes so you dont overwhelm yourself. Be consistent and watch yourself change. It will take some time but you will feel better because of it. Happy New Year!
