Make your choices wisely. I cannot emphasize enough how important it is to do your due diligence before hiring anyone or leaving your dog in anyones care. There should be background checks, referrals current and past, licensing, zoning if kept on property at the very least. IMO, it is a bad choice to trust random pet-sitters and dog-walkers from Craigs List and PetVacay. There is NO screening, no perimeters in place, almost never operating legally, above the table or even with a business license much less the set-up and relationships with vets and the education necessary to handle dogs, especially those not your own and not on their property.
