Makerere University Raises Cut Off Points. Makerere University Main building Makerere University has raised its entry points for private students entering this year following last years improved performance in UACE examinations. More students qualified to enter university compared the previous year 2011. A total of 99.3 per cent candidates qualified for the award of UACE compared to 99.2 per cent who passed in 2011. With this increased number of students qualified to join campus ,the public institution has tightened the bolt to entry .Bachelor of Dental Surgery has for instance gone up from last year’s 45.7 to 48.1 points .Bachelor of Science in civil engineering was 47 points and has been increased by 1.8 points. The academic registrar Charles Sentongo confirmed on Sunday that, “The students performed better than the previous year forcing us to raise the cutoff points,” he said.
