Making happy memories that last a lifetime, what better thing can any teacher, parent, or mentor do for a child? Add passing on a skill such as Kung Fu and you understand why I love being a Sifu (teacher). The vehicle that I found to pass those traits forward with was an organization I was affiliated with back in the early 60’s with track and field the United States Amateur Athletic Union (AAU). It has a long history of being the oldest sporting organization in America starting back in 1888! What we have built in our Kung Fu Division has earned us a spot in the Junior Olympics. What we introduced in Des Monies last year will strengthen this year n Virginia Beach on July 30-31, as kids vie to become Junior Olympic Champions! Then a trip to our Nation’s Capital where the whole family can participate building the memories. Our future looks bright in 2016 with Houston and visiting the famed “NASA Mission Control”.
