Malungkot na Vhong ang lumipad patungong Canada dahil sa hindi inaasahang twist sa kasong kinakaharap niya laban kina Lee, Raz, at iba pa. May dahilan nga bang mag-aalala siya? Ano sa palagay nyo? MANILA – A not-so-happy Vhong Navarro apparently boarded a 3:20 p.m. flight on Wednesday which is bound for Canada. Flying together with Billy Crawford, ‘Eric “Eruption” Tai and Coleen Garcia, they are reportedly set to stage some live concerts with other hosts of ‘It’s Showtime‘ on September 20 in Toronto and September 21 in Edmonton. The group expects to be in Canada for a week to bring some entertainment to the Filipino communities in the country. However, the actor’s trip to Canada coincided with the release of accused businessman Cedric Lee and Simeon Raz, Jr. on Tuesday from detention after the two were handed their temporary freedom upon posting bail which amounted to P500,000 each. Earlier this year, Navarro had filed a serious illegal detention case against both men and three others in connection with the alleged January 22 mauling incident at a condominium in Taguig. The unexpected twist to the controversial case somehow brought a gloomy cloud over the actor. Via an interview with ABS CBN News, the actor was obviously concerned on the possibilities of the accused persons doing something which may not be pleasant; considering that their group have proven in January how malicious and cruel they could be when they mauled him and allegedly tried to extort from him. The actor admitted that he cried over Judge Cortes’ ruling when he learned of it; once again remembering the trauma he went through. Navarro said in the interview that he has told everything, and has presented all evidence possible. He reiterated that he did not invent a story and that he stands by the truth of what really took place.. “Ako sinabi ko lahat at meron kaming mga ebidensya. Hindi ako nanloloko, hindi ako gumawa ng storya, sinabi ko lahat at meron kaming katibayan,” he told ABS CBN. Likewise, he also expressed worry over the safety of his family, especially as he was slated to attend to his commitment in the Canada shows. Hopefully, the snide remark “It’s showtime’ released by accused Cedric Lee to questioning reporters shortly after his release really poses no threat to the actor; as expressed by netizens. Navarro’s camp had expressed dismay over the incident, with Atty. Alma Mallongga, Navarros’ lawyer, saying, ”Ang mahirap na tanggapin talaga, ang pinapamukha, ang pinagsasabi… Nakikinig ako ‘yung sinabi ni Cedric na pangungutya na now ‘It’s showtime.’” (It’s hard to accept, what’s being thrown to your face, what’s being said….I was listening…Cedric’s snide remark, “It’s showtime.) Lee’s legal cousel, Atty. Howard Calleja, reacts to his client’s remark as simply to imply his happiness over the release; saying that “there is no reason to give malice to the statement.”
