Mama Bear was on the way downstairs with Brutus and an overnight bag when I got through to the hospital. No appendicitis. Bad tummy virus. Shes slightly less dehydrated and a wee bit high off of meds but shes good. And at home. Kudos to the ER staff at Medical University of South Carolina. They were so helpful and took the time to calm an out of town mom and convinced me that I didnt need to roll up to da Chuck. Im just gonna have to get used to this. We cant keep our children under our wings. Were not supposed to. Our job is to prepare them for the world which includes them living away from us. Poor Maria, the CT scared her a bit and she wanted her mommy, but the nurse said she was a trooper. First real emergency with one of the girls and I was in another state and unable to be by their side within minutes. Not a good feeling but one I must learn to accept and adapt to. I need some Scotch. Welcome to the club indeed.
