Mama Ifeoma and Ebole Scare: How do I tell this story really? Any one familiar with publishing will understand how crazy production periods can be. Interviews, Photo-shoots, vox pops, polls, reviews and more reviews, down to editing, more editing, designs, further edits and reviews until Press time. With a small team, it can take your whole being. What then is my story? Ebole!. Since the outbreak of this deadly disease, my husband has devoted time to educate our children about the deadly virus. Today, the boys are very much informed about it and they tell others about it. On my own part I had spoken to members of my unit, the kitchen department so I believed that everyone at home is Eboliterate but the incident of last night changed that view. Mama Ify apparently didnt have a full grasp of the Ebole. I got home about 8 pm pretty tired and famished and was ready to relish my usual Thursday Unripe Plantain/Chicken pepper-soup dinner(as in menu) for where! I got home but there was no sign of pepper-soup. Mama Ify kedu maka nri abali? (what about dinner?). (Come see drama as Mama Ify opened both hands for me). Madam I couldnt cook anything oh! I was just waiting for you to come back so I will tell you about this Ebole and what was shown on TV today. It made me not to cook anything with meat in short!, Imakwana this Ebole is evil, I will not allow him come near this house hei! Obara Jisos kpuchitanyi! Nne,the TV showed every thing that causes Ebole, every meat including chicken, all of them can cause Ebole, Chukwu nna! Chukwu nna!! Obibia Jisos adigokwanu nso! (Coming of Jesus is near) Hei! Kedu oria di nkea!.#pensive Me: Mama Ify Calm down and explain it to me please, why is there no dinner? Mama Ify: TV showed chicken as one of the meats that have Ebole, I decided not to cook with it until you return. I have given the children Indomie and I said let me wait for you to come back so we can discuss this Ebole, kanyi mara ihe aga eme ya.Now that you are back biko, kedu ihe anyi ga eme nwoke nwanu bu Ebole? I heard he is from Liberia#stillverypensive At this point my husband was standing right behind me listening to Mama Ify and her Ebole story, her reason for not making dinner. We both looked at each other, I cant remember who started the laughter but my husband and I had a good laugh. After all the drama, we all ended up with Indomie. It will be a weekend of Ebole lessons in my home, hubby is already preparing a power-point presentation on Ebole for the family, Type yes if you want a copy of it. Enjoy your weekend family. Stay blessed.
