Mama Vent- It wasnt a fight exactly, more of a difference of opinion. Now, Im pro choice... My first nephew was breastfed and formula fed, my daughter was exclusively breastfed, and my newest nephew is exclusively formula fed. All three of these babies are perfect. I am almost being attacked for still breastfeeding my daughter. She is, 15 months. She eats real foods all day, she drinks real milk, and then she breast feeds once before bed time then we cuddle until she falls asleep. My daughter has been tested and is very advanced for her age. She has been walking since 7 months, shes got the most amazing personality, and she speaks in sentences. Ive been put down by family and friends for breastfeeding her still (sometimes I do it more often than once a day, especially if shes feeling sick), having them say its creepy and unnatural. I have never once questioned their choices to use formula. To me, she is still my baby. A lot of babies her age have just learned to walk, and are starting to talk, but because mine has been doing both forever people sometimes forget shes still not even a year and a half because she looks and acts more like a 2.5-3 year old. Ive basically told them its my choice, and we will stop when both of us are ready, but sometimes I still get bummed out hearing it. I dont know... Im not looking for advice or anything... I guess I just needed to vent it out to someone completely neutral and who wont judge me.
