Mamaw Ellens funeral is today. The loss is felt by so many. She was the glue that held her family together. She loved all of us. She had a way of making you feel special and loved. I have a lot of memories of a grandmother that took care of me, taught me, laughed and played with me, took me fishing (with cane poles), helped me set up housekeeping as she said, and then continued to do the same with my children. She shared her memories and stories throughout the years. Ive thought a lot about my life with Mamaw Ellen and Papaw Jim lately. Papaw passed away in 1990. I can see them now dancing together, him singing and her with a smile. They were the best!! The sense of loss leaves an ache in my heart and tears in my eyes. Letting go can be the hardest thing to do...
