Mamoon Taheri Healthcare Center Opens in Kandahar September 1, 2013 KANDAHAR, Afghanistan – Today Governor Wesa and Dr. Pukhla opened the Mamoon Taheri Healthcare Center located at the 8th sub-district vicinity in Kandahar City. The total cost of the center was determined to 250,000 USD funded by United States Military. It took a year to complete the building of the facility and made it ready to be utilized for the people of the area. Dr. Pukhla the Director of Kandahar Health Department said, “Male and female physicians at the facility will render healthcare services to the needy people 24/7.” He said further healthcare centers will also open in various parts of Kandahar City and its districts. Dr. Phukha was very thankful of Governor Wesa and the US Military for their long-term cooperation and friendships. Kandahar Governor Dr. Tooryalai Wesa said Mirwais Regional Hospital did not have the means to fulfill people needs in the area, but opening of such healthcare centers in Kandahar can provide better services in timely manner.
