Man Sentenced to 3 Years in Jail for Stealing Shs100,000.......There were murmurs and expression of disbelief in a Soroti court on Monday when a man was convicted and sentenced to three years in prison over allegations that he had pick-pocketed from a trader. Sam Opio, a resident of MoruApesur ‘B’ Cell in Eastern Division- Soroti town allegedly pick pocketed from a one Paul Ogwal while in Arapai Market on July 25, 2013. The Soroti district state attorney, Ms Elizabeth Nandala told court on wenesday that the accused had been implicated over the theft of Shs100,000. The accused pleaded guilty to the charge of theft and was sentenced to three years in prison. However, the presiding judge, Mr William Wilberforce Galiwango said that Mr Opio was free to appeal the sentence.
