Man… at first when I started writing about how to adapt The Exorcist into a TV show I was joking but then I realized all the potential it had and I got excited. Now I wish someone would steal my concept and make it a reality. I posted it on my tumblr. This is the basic 3 season plan: ____________________________________ SEASON ONE: Deals with Father Merrin’s first encounter with Pazuzu and the events leading up to it. It’d be important to develop Pazuzu’s identity here since Pazuzu would function as a mostly “absent” character through the rest of the series probably. SEASON TWO: Would mostly be an adaption of The Exorcist novel while also establishing Father Karras’ backstory and showing how Father Merrin came to be involved while also introducing Kinderman and his investigation into Burke Dennings’ Pazuzu related death. (If anything from The Ninth Configuratin could be worked into the series it’d have to be spread between Seasons Two and Three.) SEASON THREE: Would be an adaption of Legion and would focus on Kinderman’s search for the Gemini Killer and what Father Karras and Pazuzu have been up too since Season Three. After that the series would probably need to end unless Blatty wants to think up an idea for a 4th season. Otherwise it’d be wrong to try to keep it going since it’s Blatty’s world. _____________________________________
