Man charged following stabbing – Bathurst Police have charged a man following a stabbing in the state’s west earlier this year. About 11.30pm on Tuesday 21 January, a 31-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman were exiting a taxi on Rocket Street, Bathurst, when they were confronted by a 21-year-old man. The two men became involved in an argument, when the younger man allegedly stabbed the older man in the stomach. He then left the area, and the injured man travelled in the taxi with his female companion to Bathurst Hospital, where he received treatment for his injuries. Police from Chifley LAC - NSW Police Force were alerted to the incident and commenced investigations into the incident. Yesterday (Thursday 1 May 2014), police executed a search warrant at a home in Peel Street Bathurst. Officers seized a number of items, including six cannabis plants. A 21-year-old man was arrested at the home and taken to Bathurst Police Station, where he was charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and cultivating a prohibited plant. He was refused bail and appeared before Bathurst Local Court today (Friday 2 May 2014) where his bail was further refused. The local man will next front Bathurst Local Court on Monday 10 June 2014.
