Man charged with murder — Parramatta Police have charged a man with murder following the stabbing death of a man inside a shopping centre in Sydney’s west this morning. About 10.30am (Monday 7 July 2014), emergency services were called to a shopping centre on Campbell Street, Parramatta, after reports a man had been stabbed. Officers from Parramatta Local Command attended and found the body of a 40-year-old man inside the complex. Police arrested a 35-year-old man nearby and he was taken to Parramatta Police Station. A short time ago, he was charged with murder. He has been refused bail and will appear at Parramatta Local Court tomorrow (Tuesday 8 July 2014). Specialist police have spent the day examining the crime scene and detectives have been interviewing witnesses.
