Man dead after incident with police in Ephrata EPHRATA -- A man in his early 20s died after an incident with police in Ephrata. His name had not been released as of Friday evening. Ephrata police and the sheriffs deputies were called about 2 p.m. to 644 2nd Avenue Northwest for a domestic violence incident. Officers confronted the man, who barricaded himself inside the home. Authorities said the man was injured during the incident. Details on how he was injured were not available. The man was transported to Columbia Basin Hospital in Ephrata where he was later pronounced dead, according to the sheriffs office.
