Man... driving home to Grass Valley from work in Chico today, I - TopicsExpress

Man... driving home to Grass Valley from work in Chico today, I see the ominous smoke plume rising from the King Fire. Its amazing, repulsive, awe-inspiring, scary, impressive... all of the above. We had a big scare here last week at my house with a 250 acre fire that came within 3 miles last weekend, really helped me to gain new perspective on how catastrophic fire can really be. This is the first time in my life, these series of fires, or any fire has really come this close to home, or to my childhood adopted home of Georgetown, CA. I owe more to these woods and foothills than I can even begin to describe. I have often thought of what my life would have been had I stayed in the city growing up and its not good. I am eternally grateful to all those putting it all on the line to protect mine and all my neighbors and loved ones homes and communities. Much love to all those threatened, I understand what is going through your minds. Relax... prepare... accept! We really are the first generation to keep contact with such a large spectrum of those we grew up with thanks in part to FB and social media... and aside from all the negatives, in times like these, its amazing to see how communities can and do pull together... especially those of us from the HILL! Stay strong everybody... offer support and thanks to those keeping us safe! I can help move stuff if needed, just let me know. #DIVIDESTRONG
