Man slumped over wheel charged with OWI Firefighters were already tending to Mark L. Merrick, 54, of Kenosha, Friday night when police arrived at the scene in the 6700 block of 29th Avenue. Merrick told police he thought he was on 32nd Avenue, and that it was 9 p.m., according to the criminal complaint. He also admitted drinking a six-pack of beer. When firefighters arrived, the minivan was in reverse and running. One of them turned the van off before police arrived. Blood samples were taken; results are not yet known. Merrick has two drunken driving convictions from 1994, one from 2002 and one from 2003.
