Management can make of break the quality of your employment. Ive dedicated a 1 1/2 years of my life at IHOP early mornings and late nights. There were days that I felt verbally abused and treated unjustly, but I dealt with it. It wasnt until Thursday this week that really placed the icing on the pancake. I recently got hired at Red Robin and I was planning on working both jobs at least until the fall semester started because I really need to catch up on some things, (College kid problems). However, my orientation at Red Robin is the same day as a scheduled work day at IHOP. I politely asked my managers at IHOP could I possibly come in an hour or 2 late and just work a double, or could I switch with another employee. The issue is that they are short staffed. 10-12 people were hired within the past 2 months and only 2 of those employees remain because of the belittling verbal abuse, stress, inconsistent rules, and favoritism. My managers gave me an ultimatum -_- Either IHOP or Red Robin. If I dont come in at 9 o clock on Sunday I am fired. What makes this unfair is that on many occasions different employees have called in the DAY OF with excuses. My alarm didnt of off, I dont feel good, some family member is sick, the bus doesnt run on Sunday. One employee did a no call no show 3 times within 2 weeks and just now got fired. Another missed 3 weeks for other personal problems, but Blaire cant get 2 hours off -_- but hey we know what Karma is. I thought about calling cooperate, because I feel like its racism. I thought about informing Immigration about those without green cards. I thought about causing a big ratchet scene on my last day, but I recognize the blessing and I am going to let God handle the injustice. I am moving on and the real goal is graduation. I will really miss my co-workers :-( , but they can visit me across the street at Red Robin ;-)!!! 1/2 appetizers at happy hour !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
