Manager of Engineering & Quality Service Trans-United - Bolton, ON CANADA Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Manager of Engineering & Quality Assurance position is responsible for leading, identifying, and implementing the corporate engineering systems using lean principles and methodologies for quality improvement as well as continuously identifying best practices, processes and standard work for integration into the engineering, quality, and manufacturing strategy. Key Responsibilities: 1. Manage the Engineering Team to improve processes and products with emphasis on key corporate initiatives and achieving the corporate business plan. 2. Manage the Quality Assurance function with emphasis on continuous quality improvement. 3. Produce mechanical designs and drawings in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Inventor. 4. Produce detailed product renderings and engineering calculations and take them to working manufacturing drawings ensuring compatibility with manufacturing processes. 5. Ensure that projects needs are met in terms of work plan and budgets. 6. Work with sales to ascertain customer needs, provide technical support, prepare approval drawings and specifications as required. 7. Develop and maintain quality system procedures to maintain quality and reliability. 8. Analyze, improve and implement new techniques for the control of quality and reliability. 9. Manage/supervise activities of quality inspectors. The successful candidate must be a top performer and must demonstrate the following: · A minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in a similar role in the manufacturing industry · Advanced knowledge of BOM creation, product and process costing, 3D CAD software, CAD library maintenance, make-to-order business processes. · Strong understanding of materials and manufacturing processes · Strong people management and interpersonal skills. · Strong knowledge of LEAN principles and design methodologies · Strong knowledge of quality assurance procedures Desired Qualifications: ·Knowledge of mechanical design using a variety of materials that may include steel, stainless steel, aluminum sheet, extrusion and wood. ·Understanding of steel, stainless steel, and aluminum welding processes. ·Experience with FANUC robotic software.
