Managers, I wanted to reach out and congratulate you for being chosen as a manager at EBYA this spring season! We appreciate the time, dedication and effort you put in to create a great experience for the families in our community. You all know what a big responsibility it is. The experience our families have is in your hands and we know you take it seriously. Lets all work together in order to make this one of the best seasons ever at East Bay! Please let us know how we can help you along the way because we want you to have a great experience as well! Please make sure your coaches and team mom have a badge. Anyone going on the field or has extensive time around the kids should have a BG check completed. It is for the safety of the kids so please do not take any chances. Always be on the side of caution because we are reading about to many bad things happening to kids these days. If you or your coaches did not show up for our off season coaching clinics you will need to complete the online Cal Ripken training. Lets make sure we all share the bond (and pain frustration, etc lol) of going through a minimum training process. Teaching kids good form with proper repetition in small groups is always best if able, regardless of sport. Kids rushing through with bad form is worthless. Lining 12 kids up in a line for a drill is wasting valuable time! Ronnie Rodriquez (baseball director) and Steve Bedenbaugh (softball director) will be your primary contacts. If you have roster issues you will need to reach out to the player agent for your division. They will be reaching out to you soon to introduce themselves and provide contact information. John McCool is our VP and is also a great resource. Please make sure to wear your badges to every practice and game. Coaches shirts will be provided for you and one coach on your staff. This will also help us identify who is supposed to be on the field. Cheri Wilder is our volunteer coordinator and will be coordinating the sport drink fundraiser, concession shifts, picture day and weekly league information. We will have a list a people willing to work for parents if they want to buy out of concession. They will be responsible for covering their shift and paying that person directly. The league will not collect money or coordinate it for the parents. We have kept Little League pitch counts and playing rules. We also have a new local rule that every child must start once a week. We welcome a competitive atmosphere at the appropriate levels but we must do the right thing for every child at our park regardless of ability. This is the recreational side of our program with All Stars and travel ball being more competitive options for those interested. Have a great season and thanks again for all you do at the park! Dont forget to like us on Facebook for all the latest information. Have your parents do the same! Best regards, Dean L.
