Managing Expectations: (If you have any ideas on this email me at: [email protected] and I will make sure Steve gets your message) Friends: Satisfaction is a function of expectation. I don’t want to over promise and then under deliver. From the outset I’ve pledged we will tell you the truth, our mistakes will be visible, and hopefully, so will our wins. To that end, you’ve offered many great recommendations. From more race sites, to more noise (automotive power), to more action on the water, to TV. All of which are shared by your leadership team. I’m a volunteer, our Directors are volunteers. Each of us has a “real” job and a family. Because our leadership team are successful people, our business interests tend to be time consuming. These commitments leave little time to accomplish all we’d like for H-1. However, our passion for racing exceeds reason, and somehow we find more than 24 hours per day, and our families deserve sainthood:) My “Interim” status was my choice. In time, I want to hand off a better sport to people with the skills and background to insure brighter days for decades to come. My plan has 5 primary objectives: #1. Restore Unlimited Hydroplane Racing to a respected motorsport. One that all of our stakeholders will be proud of. #2. Achieve sufficient funding so that marketing, advertising, and stakeholder support are taken care of. #3. Insure we bring a minimum of 10 competitive teams to every event with another 4 in the development phase. #4. Insure our partner race sites have a race that leaves fans saying “That was awesome!–” #5. Put our sport back on the visual media map, including live streaming. Each of these objectives has numerous strategies to achieve the end result. That’s where you can help. I need your help in re focusing the big picture hopes of ”We need more race sites” or “So and So would be a great sponsor”. What I need is: Hey Steve, I know this person, their e mail is or phone number is… We’ll take the ball from there and do our best to bring them into the sport. In the interim, both my team and me will do everything we can, in the time available, to achieve the objectives we’ve set forth. But you have another important role in making this happen. And here’s that task: our H-1 site and FB site are viewed by a lot of folks. We need to put our best foot forward, every day. Will you join me on this journey? Thanks gang! Steve
