Manchester United Boss Louis Van Gaal Set To Embark On Major Squad Overhaul At Old Trafford This Summer New Manchester United head coach Louis van Gaal is said to already be planning for a major overhaul of the first-team squad at Old Trafford this summer, according to reports in the Daily Telegraph. The experienced Netherlands national team boss was recently confirmed as being the successor to the sacked David Moyes in the Theatre of Dreams hot seat next season. And despite the fact that the Dutchman will not officially take over in the north west until after the end of this summers Fifa World Cup finals in Brazil, the 62-year-old is said to already be busy making transfer plans. The likes of Luis Nani, Tom Cleverley, Wilfried Zaha, and Javier Hernandez have all so far been the subject of interest from rival clubs, while both Ashley Young and Marouane Fellaini could be deemed surplus to requirements this summer. Meanwhile, Van Gaal has given the go-ahead for the Red Devils to push ahead with plans to sign Southampton left-back Luke Shaw, although the £27m deal for the 18-year-old will not now be completed until after the World Cup. And Van Gaal has also left United executive vice- chairman Ed Woodward to finalise deals for both Borussia Dortmund centre-back Mats Hummels and AS Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman.
