Manchester United agree wages with Thiago ahead of Barcelona exit claims Sky expert Manchester United have agreed wage terms with Thiago Alcantara ahead of his move to Old Trafford according to Sky’s Graham Hunter. #Thiago and #United close enough for wages to be agreed — Graham Hunter (@BumperGraham) June 20, 2013 Hunter is a regular panelist on Sky’s Revista La Liga alongside Guillem Balague and is considered to be a reliable source when it comes to Barcelona news given his close links to the club, so there is reason to believe it given his credibility. Nothing is yet confirmed by either club but the pace of rumours linking Thiago with a move to United has been steadily increasing in the past two days. Talks would have to be at an advanced stage if wages are being discussed between Thiago and United but as his release clause would be activated, Barcelona would not have much of a say in the transfer. ESPN’s Miguel Delaney today re-iterated that United were in pole position to secure his signature and this latest breaking news supports his claims. Thiago would be a perfect fit for United and now that the rumours have reached an advanced stage, it is hard to not think of how good our midfield would look if he was to play alongside Michael Carrick. He is a brilliant prospect and at just €18 million, his value in the market will be unmatched in this summer window and it is something that United always look for in their signings. Official movement is expected to happen within the next week given that the U21 European Championship has finished and United fans are now finding it hard to not think of Thiago in a United shirt, which would be heartbreak if it all fell through.
