The Serbian centre-back is on his way to Inter Milan in the Summer once his contract expires, and it is now down to David Moyes to find a replacement for one of Uniteds best ever central defenders. Despite being club-captain at the Emirates Stadium, Vermaelens first-team opportunities have been limited due to the impressive partnership between Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker. The Belgium defender has only made a handful of starts this season for Arsene Wengers side, and Moyes believes he could be the right man to replace outgoing Vidic. It is reported that Arsenal will ask for around £12million for the 28-year-old, who joined the club from Ajax for £10m.
