Manchester United target Toni Kroos has told his team-mates he wants to make the switch to Old Trafford, according to reports. The Germany international told colleagues that he is determined to join United this summer, claims the Daily Mirror. The reports suggest that Kroos has revealed he is no longer willing to play second fiddle to Bastian Schweinsteiger. United are reportedly planning on launching a £40m bid to land their man. The 24-year-old has one year left on his contract and negotiations with Bayern over an extension have stalled. The European champions are not minded to break their wage structure to meet Kroos’ demands given that he is a first-team regular, but not one of their stars. At United he could command wages of up to £200,000. Kroos, who is likely to line-up against United in tomorrow’s Champions League quarter-final second leg, is also reported to be a target for Real Madrid. Bayern have confidently stated that Kroos will be at the Allianz Arena next season, but a big-money bid from United would test their resolve.
