Manchester United winger Angel di Maria says that he does not - TopicsExpress

Manchester United winger Angel di Maria says that he does not think about Real Madrid anymore and is looking forward to his time at Old Trafford. Angel di Maria has not explicitly said it in public, but it is widely believed that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez was the main reason why he had to leave the European champions for Manchester United in the summer transfer window. In an open letter to the Madrid fans following his £59.7 million switch to the Red Devils, the Argentina international winger wrote: ‘There has been a desire all along to attribute to me a desire to leave the club, something that has never been the case. Unfortunately it would seem I am not the type of footballer that appeals to one person in particular’. That ‘one person in particular’ is Perez, the Madrid president continuing his ‘Galacticos’ policy by bringing in Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez and selling Di Maria among others to recover the money. However, Di Maria does not seem to hold any grudge against Perez or anyone else at Madrid. Following his impressive performance for Argentina against Germany in a friendly international in Dusseldorf on Wednesday, the attacker was asked what Perez would be thinking of his three goals and one assist in their 4-2 win. Di Maria’s answer, according to Marca: ‘Florentino? Its water under the bridge’. ‘That is done now’, ESPN quotes the Argentine as saying. ‘Now I am at a very big club, very happy with everything. I am going to work to begin adapting to English football, to my teammates, and what the coach wants’.
