Manuel Pellegrini joins Arsene Wenger in complaining about Mata move to Man Utd. After Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger complained about the Juan Mata to Man Utd switch just days after Chelsea beat United at Stamford Bridge, Manchester City Manager Manuel Pellegrini has also questioned the Spaniard’s switch to Old Trafford. Man City boss Pellegrini said, “Personally I don’t agree that the player can go from one team to another team in the same league at this part of the year, but rules are rules and he can change clubs.” Mata who has completed his medical at United before the weekend to seal a stunning £37.1million move to the Premier League Champions. But the switch has not gone down well with Arsenal and Man City. Both clubs have to play United again this season but Chelsea have already played the Red Devils twice. Explaining the reason for his apprehensions about Juan Mata’s transfer, Pellegrini said, “Because I think if a player plays for a club for more than half of the season, a club with money can take the best players from the other teams. But the rules allow it, so (there is) nothing to say. I am talking about general reasons and not the specific reason that they have played already against them. I think in this transfer window, players that play more than five or six games for the same club cannot change to another.”
