Many Hoosiers are already feeling the pain of the Affordable Care - TopicsExpress

Many Hoosiers are already feeling the pain of the Affordable Care Act, especially part-time employees who are seeing their hours and wages cut as a result of the employer mandate. Several school corporations, businesses, universities and municipal governments in Indiana and elsewhere have recently announced they would reduce hourly employees to 29 hours or less to comply with the law’s requirements and corresponding high costs. These #Obamacare29ers are facing yet another broken promise of Obamacare. In response to this issue, today I introduced the Save American Workers (SAW) Act, which restores the traditional 40-hour definition for full-time employment. This bill not only protects American working poor and middle class families, but it also ensures that laws governing employment are consistent. I’d also like to thank Rep Pete Olson, Representative Mike Kelly, and Rep Tim Walberg for introducing the SAW Act with me, and for their hard work and dedication on this issue.
