Many embarrassing moments of my life have taken place in church. The one that takes the cake, of course, is reserved for the time I tripped on the wire up at the altar and pulled down the microphone, the garland of flowers and the Bible - infront of a packed cathedral. The second one is my mother giving me an ass-whooping infront of my Confirmation class while we were lining up for church. So against these happy occasions, todays episode was on the lower end of the FML scale. It was one sentence. One sentence during Bible reading that caused me to have something akin to a heart attack. It was going well I thought. Until I reached one sentence (which Ill remember all my life): Those who are just, must be kind. Simple enough. However, my guardian angel mustve been drunk last night because what came out instead was this: Dose who are chust, must be Ghind. As in how youd pronounce Ghana. It echoed in my ears from the sound system that was working very, very well for once. GHIND ...GHIND...GHIND... And I was standing up there infront of people thinking, OhmyGodohmyGod. Behold the fob. To make matters worse, the Fijian priest who did the sermon straight after, kept looking at me and said, Now lets talk about the first reading... I shrunk in the front row seat. Yeah lets not. LOL.
