Many eyebrows were raised - in displicent disgust or sheer surprise - when I decided to improvise this mad tabla solo (on a chair!) in Russia. It seems to be a problema to accept that ARTISTS (and the people they also are) have to GROW, CHANGE, TRY new territories, dare to discover new languages inside of their language. From all the human faults, I think the one I despise the most is cowardice. A coward will easily do the most brutal, evil things and run away from responsability like a mouse; a coward will copy others, take away their ideas and credit; a coward will NEVER dare to be diferent for fear of not being accepted/liked and so forth. NOW: I may be many things (usually not the ones I´m accused of:)!!!) but coward is not one of them. There you have it: I grow - therefore the ARTIST in me grows.
