Many moons ago at uni in an airline ops class we learnt about profits... The very smart lecturer emphasised just because a company makes a profit doesnt mean everything is fine - we had to look at how the profit was made... Was it through sound strategies yielding good returns or was it though downsizing, lay offs and cost cutting? Those last strategies will only go so far before turning a profit next time around wont be possible. Interesting article - people can make their own determinations. Sometimes profits are so good we can be hailed as heroes.
