Many of you have asked about CLARKs brother LEWIS. His foster mom is on vacation so Carrie is keeping him through the Holidays. This has given her a chance to properly assess his temperament and his needs. We are happy to report that this boy really wants to be a lover. He is so gentle yet terribly afraid. These one year old Great Dane brothers have been abused and beaten and were facing euthanasia at the shelter. No one wanted to take a chance on them. We pulled them the very day they were going to die! We are sure happy we did because both of them are gentle giants who just need a little patience. We will be looking for a foster home for one of these babies who has the ability to build trust and affection with him. They HAVE to be allowed to be inside a loving home and not just loose in a backyard. Neither of these boys is at all aggressive.....they are just terrified of human touch. But CLARK has already come so far in the week he has been with PHOENIX RISING and LEWIS is showing progress as well even though hes only been here 12 hours. Both boys are now fully vetted and available for adoption but we prefer to see them be with a family or person who has experience with the breed or with abused dogs.
