Many of you may not know this about SAR folks. Search and Rescue personnel are NOT paid for their services in most cases. They are available at all hours of the night leaving their own families to help others in need. Many people call them volunteers but actually, SAR people are highly trained non-paid professionals who own and train their own dogs, they pay out of their own pockets for their personal training and travel to and from those classes yet their services are nearly always free to anyone who needs them. If you know a SAR dog team, take a moment and thank them for what they do.
