Many of you probably know that 15 months ago King Crimsons Robert Fripp kindly offered me the use of his mellotron (the Mk2 originally used on In the Court of the Crimson King) to play on The Raven that Refused to Sing album. Well I loved the sound of the real thing so much, that I immediately ordered a brand new one from Streetly Electronics, who only make a few of them every year, such is the precision and work that goes into every one. Well today this beautiful piece of British engineering finally arrived to take pride of place in my studio, and it sounds incredible! Expect a lot (well even more) of mellotron on the next album (-;
