Many people acknowledge me as a Doctor Who fan. I suppose am, but I tend to cringe at the suggestion (please dont call me a Whovian...ever). The show is often messy, sometimes bland, and almost always convoluted...but its occasionally brilliant, and has brought me to tears on multiple occasions for almost inexplicable reasons. Theres some sort of undercurrent that keeps incentivizing me to continue watching with hopeful eyes - and I know Im not the only one who feels this way. This article beautifully summarizes what it is that gives this show remarkable weight despite all of its negative baggage.
