Many people have showed interest, so heres another update for everyone: This weekend, I drove to Bentonville, Arkansas to watch Talon compete in a crossfit competition. He got first place in one of the events and took 7th overall in his division. I am extremely proud of him! After the competition, Talon and I drove to Kaw for some much needed lake time! Although Dalton Martin and Abigail Roets destroyed the tube with their mad wave jumping skills, it was still so great to see all of my family. This weekend was a great one filled with family (both Talons and mine), fun, and relaxation. Now on to school. Classes are going fine. College is definitely different from high school (I never needed to study much in high school), but Im learning to adapt. As some of you know, I found it extremely difficult to devote enough of myself to the sorority life due to a very busy schedule. I am no longer a part of Alpha Sigma Alpha, but I am still very thankful for those girls and the things I learned from them in such a short time. I am, however, involved in a ton of other groups including Pittsburg States Students For Violence Prevention, Pitt State Theatre, Autism Speaks U, To Write Love On Her Arms, and Gorillas In Your Midst. I have met some incredible people through those groups, and I am so excited to see what will come from joining those groups in the future. I am still writing for the newspaper (Collegio) and the yearbook (Kanza), and I am very thankful for those jobs. I also had a job interview today for University Developments Phonathon. I think it went well, and I really hope I get the job. Last night marked the beginning of my second round of You Cant Take It With You, which is the last show I did in high school, and it will be the first show I do in college. In the past, I have done costumes/makeup and one show as stage manager, but I will be Co-Props Master for this show. Props are a huge part of this show, so that will be interesting. I am very excited for this new opportunity! On top of all of this, I have been working out fairly regularly. Next week, classes start in the evenings for yoga and weightlifting and Im hoping Ill be able to find time to attend those. I love yoga as a stress reliever, and Ive always wanted to learn to lift weights. So theres my story. Sorry for the length.
