Many people, like my father, say that there was not much great music to come out of the 80s. As a product of that decade, Id tend to agree. But some of the good ones were really VERY, VERY great ones. This song is probably not one of the most well known songs, unless you were a heavy metal groupie. Iron Maiden got very little media support on the radio or MTV (yes, MTV used to show videos). But Iron Maiden was one of the most successful bands ever. For a while, you could not go to the mall without seeing Eddie on at least one t-shirt. So people listened and many remain faithful. This 14-minute song may have ended up in obscurity, but I am not alone in saying that this song is among the greatest hard rock/heavy metal songs of all time. If anyone comments below that anything from Winger or Warrant was better, Im unfriending you.
