Many people misunderstand the Bible. God did not say that couples can divorce. Moses said that due to the hardness of the heart of Israel. People like to take the part they like and leave the part they dont like and that is why they rationalize divorce. The Lord said in Mark 10:9 that What God has joined together, let no man put asunder. If you can read other few words from the Bible, and ask God to speak to you as to what He meant, He will send you the Holy Ghost to guide your understanding of the following references. Reading the whole references is a Good start: Genesis 2:18, also verse 20-24, Mark 10:2-12, Luke 16:18, 1 Corinthians 7:10-11. Those that support divorce rely heavily on Matthew 5:32 and 19:9 but they ignore verse 8 before it. That decree is from Moses for those under the Law and not from God and Jesus answered in Mark 10:10 with emphasis. Those under the Covenant of Jesus Christ are by grace and are not under the law given by Moses especially a decree that is not from God as you can see from the reading. Further clarification was made by Apostles in 1 Peter 3:1, Titus 1:6, 1 Timothy 3:2. Because we love Jesus Christ and expected to live like him, there is no need of the laws. Those who live like Christ already obey all laws, as Christ did. There is no law to break; he obeyed it all.
