Many peoples lives were changed for ever, I can still see the second flight hit the second building. We were all together in the office in disbelief. On this day, I was stationed @ Ft Stewart GA and served as the Division Strength Manager. We were at work a little early because it was a busy time for providing assignments for all incoming Soldiers. Such a painful day; I was in GA and was trying to reach out to everyone I knew in NY. I was born and raised in NYC. I had brothers and sister there. Aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends etc. My anxiety level hit the roof. Yes I was a believer, but talk about a breaking and shaking within. Daddy was in Newburgh but it wasnt uncommon for him to visit NYC. My brother Terence was a conductor at the time, he traveled the route of the WTC on a regular basis. I was so grateful to hear his voice. He had to walk for hours to make it home. I believe that day just to be able to walk was a celebration of life for him. And on this day I am reminded of those who still hurt, are still stuck, or still mourning. I know there is still hope and still a reason to live and learn how to love life. Please dont use the term it is time to move of or get over it. Dig within, pull out empathy and compassion and help them do it!!!!
