Many sub-Saharan African growth remains largely commodity driven and the outcomes are not in “embedded Asian style middle-class driven economies”. This unsustainable Russian style resource driven growth has had very little trickle-down effects in most countries. Oil distorts everything in economies. That is why Lagos is so damn expensive. That is why Luanda is the world’s most expensive city today. GROWTH DOES NOT EQUAL DEVELOPMENT
