Many trolls have come out of the woodworks to inform Pattie Curran that her troubles are actually the fault of her familys employer, the insurance / pharmacy benefits company, or herself, and not at all stemming from nor related to Obamacare. The fact is that under a less regulated, more free market system, Patties family was able to work out an arrangement for health insurance with which all parties involved were happy and was considered affordable for her family to get the medications they need. Some of the ACA mandates kicked in, and costs increased all around. More mandates kicked in for 2014, employer experiences millions/year in added expenses, and cut further coverage in order to offset those mandated expense increases. I.e. the government interfered with a mutually beneficial employer/employee arrangement. Does the idea that many others werent covered for the same meds then make it right to take your coverage from one, to equal the playing field where they still dont have the coverage on compounds, now her family loses coverage on compounds, but at least other people now can obtain birth control & other items unrelated to Pattie and her employer? Its wrong all around. In the free marketplace, Pattie was voluntarily working to try to help others get their compounds covered, as well. Now she is not able to do that because shes struggling with having to figure out how her familys compounded meds are going to be covered. Knocking some down to equal the playing field doesnt help others.
