We would like to thank Sharples VFD for sharing their water rations with Spruce River VFD. It was amazing to see how quick our community wiped out the first 3 pallets we picked up Friday from Boone County Emergency Operations Center. It was all gone by Saturday! Thank You Thomas Crisp for thinking about us and giving us 3 and a half more pallets this am. We have nearly given out half of this all ready :O) I dont know how you do it! Remember guys Monday Morning to call and thank your state and local reps and be sure to let them know how much you appreciate their hard work getting us this water. Also let them know you dont feel safe drinking this water and would like them to continue to try to keep it coming. It is amazing what team work and the community can do when we pull together! Just a few of our guys loaded and unloaded 3.5 pallets of water today and it was not easy. Each case had 6 gallons and was pretty darned heavy! These guys do this for free folks, and they deserve a big thank you as well! Anyone who would like to come help the fire dept out during times of need like this or who would actually just like to join please come down and hang out with us on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month a 6pm when we meet. We have an auxillary group for those who want to help but dont want to get out and actually fight fire. Everyone can help in some way!
